Flee your coop and get to Fig Tree Café in Hillcrest and Pacific Beach where the menu is crafted with fresh and local ingredients. Their Monterey Scramble is both savory and hearty. Using three eggs (from a family owned farm in Ramona), scallions, Ortega chilies, jack cheese and of course bacon served alongside Mexican rice, black beans, three corn tortillas and salsa. The Monterey Scramble rules the roost! Stop by Fig Tree Café in Liberty Station for breakfast or brunch to indulge in their Soy Chorizo Scramble. Consisting of three eggs, soy chorizo, jack cheese, red onion, black beans with tortillas and guacamole these flavors come together to give a savory, spicy and so scramble-lous scramble.
There isn’t a “bad egg” over at Sandbar, this hen house is more than your average sports bar and grill. The S.O.B Scramble is made with carne asada, jack and cheddar cheese with cilantro and salsa fresca for a taste of freshness. If you’re in Pacific Beach, stop by Sandbar where you can eat and watch the waves right on the boardwalk.
Let’s breakfast over at Breakfast Republic in North Park, Liberty Station and Encinitas! We’re not “egg-saggerating” when we say that their Portugese Linguisa Sausage is the most savory scramble at Breakfast Republic. With four cage-free eggs, bacon, BR Cluckin’ Good hot sauce green bell peppers, garlic, tomatoes, thyme and oregano served with house potatoes and toast. There is also the option to substitute the potatoes and bread for a pancake, if you’re not too chicken to eat more!
From farm to table, Farmer’s Bottega has the freshest egg scrambles in Mission Hills. A hearty breakfast menu filled with great dishes to get your day started, this restaurant will easily become your go-to morning breakfast spot. Their Mexican Scramble is made with cage-free eggs, organic soy chorizo, sautéed onions, jalapenos and served with a side of black beans, tortillas and guacamole.
Over at, WESTROOT tavern they’ve crafted a menu from the land and sea with a Southern California twist. Now offering brunch on the weekends, you will not want to miss this spot. Indulge in the WESTROOT scramble made with seasonal veggies, avocado, cherry tomatoes, basil with a side of roasted potatoes and toast. Not to mention the Bloody Mary Bar (!) where you can craft your cocktail just the way you like it. Cheers to that!
