While San Diego is quite a few miles from the French Quarter in New Orleans, that doesn’t mean that Mardi Gras can’t be celebrated out on the West Coast! A few local bars and restaurants will be doing their best to celebrate the Fat Tuesday holiday on February 28th.

Not only will they have drink specials throughout the night, the party gets cranked up at 10 p.m. with Karaoke open to all in attendance. Try a true Mardi Gras style drink for the night for only $5, choosing from a Red Rooster, Red Snapper, or a Hurricane.
Fat Tuesday + Taco Tuesday – the best holiday in San Diego. Sandbar Sports Bar and Grill in Mission Beach is merging these two celebratory days into one taco-filled holiday. From 7 p.m. to close, bargoers can enjoy $2 tacos, $4 margaritas, $3 El Jimador Shots, and ½ price top shelf margaritas. Throw on some beads and a mask and celebrate with a taco in hand!
Just hearing ‘New Orleans’ brings up visions of great live music and crawfish. Tavern at the Beach will have both on Fat Tuesday, bringing Mardi Gras to life in Pacific Beach. Fill you plate with Louisiana favorites from the $25 all you can eat Crawfish Boil, then pair with one of the specialty cocktails offered for the evening. Libations include $5 Malibu cocktails, $10 Rum Runner Buckets or $5 Jungle Juice Ice Luge. Top it all off with live music by Euphoria Brass Band, playing from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.
