There’s no shortage of great restaurants in San Diego, and today we add to the list of the most anticipated openings for 2017!
Farmer’s Table (Opening February 2017)
Farmer’s Table is what La Mesa has been hungering for, bringing together fresh, local flavors and unique recipes to create innovative spins on time-tested family favorites. Celebrating the farm-to-table concept, Farmer’s Table will prove that food doesn’t need to be complicated to be good, and the owners will strive to let the natural flavors speak for themselves. “’Honest food done right’ pretty much sums up our mission,” says co-owner Alberto Morreale.

Grater Grilled Cheese Del Mar (Opening February 2017)
With locations in Mission Valley, La Jolla and a catered food truck, San Diego’s 1st gourmet grilled cheese shop is opening its third location in the Del Mar Highlands Towne Center. Grater Grilled Cheese is home to the unique, chef-inspired twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich using all organic and locally sourced ingredients by chef Gaston Corbala.
Grater Grilled Cheese was inspired by the food truck Greengo Grilled Cheese that has been on the roads since 2011. With his culinary and cultural background, the founder Gaston Corbala realized that there will always be a special place for grilled cheese sandwiches in everyone’s stomachs and created what is now San Diego’s only gourmet grilled cheese shop and truck.

Breakfast Republic Carmel Valley (Opening April 2017)
Address: 6025 Village Way, Suite F101 San Diego, CA 92130
With locations in North Park, Liberty Station and Encinitas, Breakfast Republic continues to raise feathers in San Diego as the top spot to enjoy the most important meal of the day.
The menu at Breakfast Republic represents a collection of travel- and nostalgia-inspired dishes served up with a twist that is uniquely their own. Take the Vietnamese Chicken Wing Breakfast Bowl, for example. And every early bird will love BR’s Southern Shrimp Grits and Mexican Churro Pancakes. Of course, there are the basics, too, like scrambles and omelets. All of the eggs cracked come from happy chickens who reside at a family farm in Ramona, supporting the claim that everything they serve at BR is flappin’ good.
Their avant garde approach to decor is innovative and inviting, featuring a living wall emblazoned with a rooster on the run. And the furnishings are comfortable. The only thing customers must do is roll out of bed and show up hungry, because the staff is there to brighten everyone’s morning and are certainly the kind of people you don’t mind waking up to.
Park 101 Carlsbad Village (Opening March 2017)
This upcoming February, the burgeoning Carlsbad Village community will be unveiling an expansive 8000 sq. ft. multi-level, plaza style restaurant and lounge complex to the neighborhood. Park 101 will be unlike anything in the area, bringing a fresh dining, drinking and “grab and go” concept to this coveted seaside village. Kid-friendly and dog friendly, this unique plaza is expected to be a landmark destination for neighbors and visitors to the area.
For “on the go” visitors, the Market will feature an old fashioned, street-side walk-up window, serving a hearty list of take-away treats such as hot tri-tip sandwiches, ready-made juices, fresh expresso and coffee, ice cream sandwiches, as well as irresistible handmade doughnuts.
Visitors can meander across the plaza, where Park 101’s indoor/outdoor Garden Pub will offer a variety of up to 32 local tap beers and a wide selection of regional wine offerings. The casual setting will invite the opportunity for a relaxing time of fun with friends and family.
Also on the property, Park 101 Barbecue will serve as a “go-to” spot for lip-smacking ribs and a rack of meat-centric BBQ specialties. Cooked to perfection, their signature sauce and methods will be inspired by the talents, traditions and recipe secrets of pitmaster greats who have made their way to the top of the food chain.
Park 101’s Tamarack View Deck will rise above it all, featuring a rooftop lounge with fire pits and cozy seating areas, where gourmet snacks and million-dollar views of the vibrant Carlsbad Village will be served daily.
