Halloween is around the corner and two of our favorite chefs have created recipes to enjoy while watching scary horror movies all weekend long. The first recipe is Superfood Popcorn by True Food Kitchen’s Executive Brand Chef, Arik Markus and the second is Here’s Johnny Johnny Cakes by Chef Andre Fuentes of The Patio Group.
Executive Brand Chef Arik Markus of True Food Kitchen recommends snacking on superfood popcorn while while watching your favorite horror film this Halloween. Made with freshly popped corn and sprinkled with nutritional yeast, hemp, chia seeds and salt-free herb seasoning, it’s a guilt-free way to make it through any spooky movie. True Food Kitchen has 11 locations nationwide, and offers cuisine inspired by the world’s healthiest populations, focusing on wholesome, all-natural dishes that are prepared simply to highlight the natural health benefits and tastes of each ingredient.
True Food Kitchen, known for preparing simple and delicious foods to help people achieve and maintain optimum health, will introduce new changes to its signature menu timed with its late summer seasonal menu launch on August 1. These changes are the result of months of work by the brand’s culinary and beverage team at its test kitchen in Phoenix, Ariz. The updated signature menu, a dynamic lineup of nutritious dishes featuring freshly-cooked healthy food, features new ingredients, food categories and entirely new dishes, as well as re- invented favorites and more. As always, the restaurant’s menu remains true to the principles of Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory food pyramid.
True Food Kitchen is kicking off its educational community dinner series with the first event taking place today at 6 p.m. Each dinner will take place in the restaurant’s beautiful private dining room and will provide diners an opportunity to interact with Executive Chef Nathan and experience a custom four-course menu reflecting a select theme using locally sourced ingredients.
There is no place quite like downtown to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. On May 5, Kettner Exchange will be partnering with Alexia de la Parra of Casa Artelexia to transform the second floor into an exclusive fiesta not to miss. Join Beverage Director Steven Tuttle in two of the cabanas between 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. for a special tasting of the smoky Mexican distilled spirit, mezcal. Between sips, snack on house favorites like the shishito peppers featuring garlic chips, bonito flakes and ponzu or indulge in the big eye tuna tacos with guacamole, crème fraiche and cilantro.
True Food Kitchen has rolled out their new spring menu today. In line with the nutrition-forward restaurant’s food philosophy, the new True Food Kitchen menu items feature a plethora of seasonal fruit and vegetables, superfoods and sustainably sourced proteins to create innovative dishes that are as good for you as they are delicious.
